Wildfrost Mod Support Storms In!

Hello Snowdwellers!

Before we get started,A reminder that Wildfrost will be 30% off in Chucklefish’s 13th Anniversary Publisher sale from today at 18:00 BST, so there’s no better time to dive in! Don’t dilly dally, as the sale only runs to July 29!

Last update we announced the final Wildfrost update, well… we lied! We have one more surprise for you, with the help of miya_kope and our wonderful discord community, we are excited to announce the game now features official mod support via the Steam workshop!

Have you ever dreamt of playing Wildfrost with randomized card stats? Googly eyes? Or perhaps adding your own crazy card and charm ideas to the game? Well now you can! The Wildfrost workshop already features over 60 mods created by our amazing community, with many more in the works.

How To Play Mods

  1. Ensure you’re updated to v1.2.2 on Steam
  2. Subscribe to the mods you want on Steam Workshop – https://steamcommunity.com/app/1811990/workshop/
  3. Select ‘Play Wildfrost With Mods’ when you launch Wildfrost
  4. Select ‘Mods’ in the Main Menu
  5. Press the Bell Icon next to the Mod you want to install
  6. PLAY THAT MOD.

Mod Spotlight: Snowfall

One of the experiences we want to highlight is Snowfall! It’s a clever mod by a talented team of 5 where you play as the BAD GUYS working their way through to the various biomes in reverse order to take down the Snowdwellers.

‘The Wildfrost is growing more anxious. It knows the adventurers that come to slay its source will never end. There is only one way to ensure the eternal storm…destroying Snowdwell. The Guardian calls upon his minions to storm Snowdwell in retaliation, hoping to bring an end to the last civilization among the snow. Will the Snowdwellers survive the incoming storm? Or will the Wildfrost forever rest upon the land?’

SNOWFALL flips the script and introduces a PLETHORA of new companions, charms, enemies, bosses and items. With companions such as the portly Pebble Hog, or the Spicy Pipper, you’ll no doubt be cooking up new strategies to keep those Snowdwellers snowed under.

Your new foes will have absolutely no chill. With entirely new factions developed for you to fight based off the synergy from the playable cards within the base game, there’s so much to love in this mod. The Cleaving Crowers are also a force to be reckoned with! Though they may fight amongst themselves, their strength is fueled by the loss of their fallen comrades. It’s fun to see them in action, but be prepared for an intense battle if you cross their path!

There’s plenty more on the way besides Snowfall so keep a keen eye out in the Wildfrost discord for more magical mods.

Tinkering

The Clunkmasters have been tinkering again and this update also comes with additional balance changes and bug fixes!

  • Binku – Health increased to 5
  • Weevil – Health increased to 60
  • Snoffel – Health reduced to 3
  • Snobble – Health increased to 6
  • Roibos – Health increased to 8, Attack increased to 3
  • Pimento – Counter reduced to 4
  • Fixed summoned unit with ink losing health after losing ink
  • Fixed issues with killing an enemy at the same time as inking them
  • Fixed Nom & Stompy’s effect not working properly when killing multiple enemies at once
  • Fixed “boost effects” effect not remaining when you quit & reload mid battle
  • Fixed Mimik sometimes attacking from the wrong row
  • Fixed some challenges not showing up at the end of the run when they are completed
  • Fixed “Trigger when an enemy is killed” effect not interrupting Frenzy like Smackback does
  • Fixed error when there are too many cards in hand
  • Fixed error when there is too much blood on the battlefield
  • Fixed scrolling through many charms on gamepad skipping past items
  • Fixed error from Monch with Yank
